The Sheffield Flood Trail is now an established feature running from the site of Dale Dyke Dam and ending at the Memorial set up outside Vulcan House, UKBA, Millsands.
Over recent years Ron has extended it via the now defunct Hillsborough Community Development Trust and with the help of Mick Drewry, St Polycarps Church and Malcolm Nunn of the Bradfield Local History Society down into Millsands and hopefully further.
These photographs show Lord Mayor of Sheffield Councillor Vickie Priestley laying the floral tribute that is now part of the commemoration on the 11th March which was the day in 1864 when the Flood thundered into Sheffield laying waste to dwellings, workplaces and killing hundreds of Sheffielders young and old. Why not walk the Flood Trail with Ron and learn anecdotes, ghost tales and much more and finish in one of the many excellent pubs in the Upper Don Valley? You will be guaranteed a smile and an enjoyable evening.
